2nd Amendment had nothing to do with hunting…nothing.

Most people even at that time had livestock, or they traded with local farmer.

There is far more deer today then there was 250 years ago.

Why?

The amount of time to reload a muzzle loader or whatever in the 1700s no mass shooting could have likely occurred

You obviously were not watching Fox News where someone suggested that playing “violent video games” is part of the problem. Let me point out that people in other countries also play those video games.

I couldn’t upload the video (wrong format) so I grabbed this one from twitter.

Fox News is desperately trying to avoid the fact that the shooter was a white nationalist, immigrant hating dip ■■■■■

Yes but George Washington and the other founders had no idea if England or Spain or France were going to attack us after we won our independence. Anything could have happened and any country could have gone back on their word. There were kings and queens and we all know how crazy monarchs were.

So they couldn’t take guns away from people and needed them armed just in case. And many people simply used them for food. Dan’l Boone (and people like him) were alive during that period.

It has made us the crazy country that we are now. They are to blame.

I also saw another person who was formerly with the FBI. She also mentioned about violent video games desensitising players.

The problem with that theory is there are players who are domiciled in other countries.

I agree that bearing arms had much more utility back then

There may have been an historical imperative that is no longer relevant. I also have pointed out that the 2A is not absolute.

It might cause self reflection… and we don’t do that.

I have posted this often, and been ridiculed about it here, but…

the deal is that if a person is armed and has half a brain he can kill 10 to 20 people without them even knowing it. It doesn’t matter if it’s Texas or wherever.

Here is the statement from Democratic candidate and Washington-State Governor Inslee on the recent Antifa firebomb attack against a Tacoma ICE facility:

"Along with many Americans, I object with every fiber of my being to Donald Trump’s inhumane treatment of immigrants in America. But if today’s attack was motivated by opposition to the federal government’s actions, it was totally unacceptable. Violence is not acceptable.

"Our democracy is strong and we are a resilient people. But it is, again, unacceptable to turn to violence. Hate crimes are on the rise, as is divisive and incendiary rhetoric.

“We must be better than that and find non-violent ways of pursuing the better world we want, as many groups are doing.”

The bottom line from Democrats is that Antifa violence is President Trump’s fault. “Incendiary” rhetoric is implied to be the equivalent of actual attacks with incendiary weapons.

Of course, right-wing nutcase violence is Trump’s fault too. The left is never to blame only Trump.

Yep. White supremacist radicalization is not even on this idiot’s radar.

This kid’s ginormous suburban mcmansion is currently being ripped apart by police. But sure Lindsey, he just simply fell through the cracks…

What are your thoughts on these white nationalist mass murders/terrorist attacks? Honest question, do you believe that these are domestic white nationalist terrorist attacks?

Another deranged white supremacist with a gun.

It is. It very much is. He doesn’t want to upset his supporters.

So Texas is an open carry state ?

I was told that this is where the shooters would never ever do this because of the fear of a “good guy with a gun” ?

I think this shooting is the first in a while to change the perspective of some arguments.

Not the 2nd amendment argument per se I actually think the right to bear arms is up there with free speech but this was not a gun free zone, this guy may (this is a May so far) have attacked the location specifically because of Hispanics etc.

There are some bad res flags here in my opinion

I didn’t say it contributed. It is common among them. You want to ignore that and go after my guns?
