Chinese and IP is an issue…but the claim was “Just about all of American technology”.
That sounds a bit hyperbolic.
Shall we cut ties completely with China? I am no fan of their authoritarian regime, but what is the answer? All of that tech mfg is not coming back…some of it can, and has come back…but they are still huge trading partners.
China is not the only one stealing IP from the US. India is up there as well. It is certainly a problem.
But make sure the US education system continues to focus on gender identity, pronoun use and declarations of racism in subjects like mathematics.
Brilliant doncha think?
Oh, almost forgot. US students are so ■■■■■■■ illiterate thanks to progressive cretins passing themselves off as “teachers”, the overpaid morons and their unions want to ■■■■ can grading systems?
This country is so screwed.

Wrong.
Nobody hyperbolizes on this board.
And focusing on what never happens is a great way to miss the actual point of the post.

That’s why we need to bring in an entire German team to rebuild our educational system from top to bottom. We should copy their model.
I don’t like relying on foreigners, but considering how grave the situation is I’m willing to make an exception. The Germans have one of the best educational systems in the world. It would make sense for us to copy it.
It’s not the first time the Germans have had to be called in to fix something. The British brought in HK to fix that disaster of a rifle called the L85A1. All 300,000 of them of them were rebuilt by the Germans. Now they work fantastic.

Well one difference between the PRC and India is that we are very unlikely to be in a war with India in the 2040s.
Whereas a war with the PRC is extremely likely barring some diplomatic revolution on the scale of the French-Austrian alliance back in the 1750s.

But, gosh we spend more per student than any country. Yet, we have to import scientists who are at risk of being spies… But blame Trump…LMAO!

Where did you come up with the idea that the US Government funds scholarships for foriegn graduate students?
You’ve posted it a few times now, but with no attribution.

That is not what I wrote.
Reading comprehension.
It’s much better than jumping to false conclusions

The scholarships come with the assistantships.
You know that.
You’re missing the point.
US taxpayers don’t fund scholarships or “assistantships” for US citizen graduate students, let alone for foriegn graduate students.

The federal government does not. (Well, a few assistantships are grant -funded)
But I did not say the federal government provides the scholarships/assistantships.
Did I?
STEM degrees require a work ethic most American students do not possess.
Grant funding is based on the research, not the students.
You said “US taxpayers” and “US-funded.”
What did you mean, if not government-funded scholarships?
Gaius

Funded by scholarships and stipends that come with the US funded assistantships.

Any of those universities receiving federal subsidies?
The US doesn’t fund any assistantships.

Wrong.
False. Incorrect.
The US Government does not directly fund assistantships would be a correct statement. But that is not what I said, is it?
Assistantships funded by US universities US states, and US research grants are still US funded. (oh and up to 92% of college education costs are paid by financial aid)
