A question for pro life/anti abortion people

How long of a prison term should a woman who has an abortion get?

lets say that texas bans abortion
a 17 year old girl get pregnant due to rape.
she has an abortion, maybe thru pills so there is no doctor involved

How long of a prison term should she get?
If you say that abortions should be allowed in the case of rape and incest isnt that condoning murder according to your beliefs?

So I ask? how long should this rape victim have to serve? 10 years? 20? life? after all the pro life side says abortion is murder and she will have according to them murdered her baby.

Since it’s “premeditated murder” she should get the death penalty.

I’d be more apt to provide a place to stay and recover, than a place to be imprisoned.

so in your view a teenage rape victim should be forced to carry to term, reliving the rape every day

This is a decision that’s NONE of my business. My comment was regarding her experience afterwards.

A felon creates life that the victim can’t end but the State can end hers…?

Precisely why the debate is still raging: too complex for such simple minds as mine.

So are you asserting that abortion should not be illegal?

That decision has already been made and it’s now a personal decision. My assertion is that a poor 17 year old that has been raped and has now decided to have an abortion is going through a trauma that all I want to offer is my consolation.

I favor an exemption for rape. So no prison time at all.

But how would you really know if the girl in question was actually raped. Maybe she had consensual sex and regretted it later.

Murder is ok if the murderer had a crime committed against them first?

I understand the compassion angle, as well as realization that she became with child at no fault of her own, however if killing an unborn child is murder then you’re really saying that murder is ok under extenuating circumstances.

At least someone is going to be punished for the murder. If she says she’s raped, we can prosecute the father. Probably can charge him with murder as well as rape, since he created an unfortunate life that had to be done away with.

So also become a burden to taxpayers for life?

Simple answer to that, end government public assistance programs.

You think prison is a “government assistance program”?

Of course not. Perhaps clarify your statement. I thought you were referring to welfare programs.

I am referring to what our for-profit prison systems do to anyone who is incarcerated, it creates a virtual underclass that few ever escape from.

Mine was an offer made more on a personal basis than a public one. When problems arise that are not self inflicted, it’s my nature to help.

Get the feeling that no one is trying to understand what you are saying here?
