Trump stiffed the little guy while running businesses into the ground several times.

That made him perfect for government work.

Seriously if it wasn’t for The Apprentice, Donald Trump never becomes President.

That show created the myth of Donald Trump as savvy businessman that those who didn’t live in the NYC area during his heyday believe in.

Late to the party, but here goes.

For me , it started with the primaries when he simply made up vicious lies about the other candidates. i.e. Cruze’s father was involved in the Kennedy assassination. Obvious lies he just made up. Strange stuff.

Then his attacks on the election began as a pre excuse for losing since almost everybody thought he would lose. After the election, he kept up his attacks on the election even though his own people could not prove anything. That, plus the weird lie about his inauguration crowd size. Odd lies he didn’t have to make. That’s when I became convinced something was wrong with him.

When he threw his own intelligence service under the bus and embraced Putin in front of the whole world in Helsinki was another straw.

His odd dance around the Neo Nazis in Charlottesville was another straw.

His viciousness and divisiveness on twitter every single day, and the way he embraces any crazy conspiracy theory, like Q-anaon as long they like him were more straws.

Of course the final straw is his continuing attacks on an election he’s lost, proving he will do anything, say anything and attack anything as along as it benefits himself.

This man is very, very dangerous.

Ah. This is a place where we disagree. The quantity and quality of lies were different, as was his need to conscript others into supporting them.

I know it seems smart and savvy to say “Nothing new here” but it’s wrong. If you can’t see or acknowledge that, then this discussion has nowhere much to go.

I have a question about Trump for the progs. A serious question.

What is it?

While I am not a progressive, it was very simple for me. As some of you that came over from the old forums may remember, I STRIDENTLY opposed Trump’s candidacy from the moment it was announced and have opposed him since.

The man is a a sociopath, which I recognized and accepted long ago.

That very fact disqualifies him from any office, let alone President.

And most of what is wrong with him is an extension of the sociopathy.

Putting that aside, while some of his political views and actions were acceptable, the fact is that he is a populist rather than a conservative and espoused positions I find toxic and noxious, such as trade protectionism.

Of course, from shortly after the General Election, through January 6th and beyond, he proved for all time his unfitness for office and vindicated my very early opposition to him.

There were only a few days of true uncertainty, and a quality person would have conceded the election to Biden, congratulated him and worked together on the transition. Had he done so, we would have been spared the shameful events of January 6th and Republicans might still hold one or two Senate seats in Georgia.

Biden is too old. (Trump is too.) He has bad policies. But ultimately, he is not a sociopath and Trump is. That was the choice in 2020.

And not to mention that Trump is at the very least guilty of obstruction of justice and likely other crimes once everything comes out.

I will be vigorously pursuing an “anyone but Trump” policy in 2024.

I get and agree that Trump is not a “nice guy”. I get and agree that he conned people his whole life. That he was greedy. A womanizer. Rude. Boorish. Self-aggrandizing. A braggart.

I agree he took classified documents, probably to brag.

What I don’t understand is the hatred of him as the President.

He governed as a moderate.

You progs called him a racist… why? And how do you ignore Brandon’s history of over racism up to and including the campaign?

You called Trump stupid, then turned around and voted for a guy who was an idiot in his prime.

At least when you were calling Bush the Younger a chimp and Hitler, there was a war on.

What is it about it about President Trump that upsets you so.

It can’t be the greed, there have been others as bad.

Can’t be the womanizing, Clinton diddled an intern in the Oval Office.
