A memorial dedicated to Americans lost in the Global War on Terror is one step closer to reality

Not sure how I feel about this. I know some names I’ll be visiting when it happens, but there are more names that will be added among the 3,000+ still deployed to the Mid-Eazy and Africa.

There seems to be a bit of a rush to not be completely forgotten. Why?

Legislation to construct a memorial on the National Mall has been a long time coming. On Veterans Day 2019, two veterans of the GWOT era, Reps. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) and Jason Crow (D-Colo.), introduced legislation to designate a location for the memorial on the National Mall.

It would appear that the right mindset initiated this and from both sides of the political aisle. I’m not sure either but thus far, I like it’s roots.

It hasn’t been 10 years since the end of the conflict, and people are still deployed. Names are yet to be tallied.
