If the right would get their ■■■■ together in France and run someone not named LePen they could probably have easily won. Whether fair or unfair the name LePen is tarnished in France and a significant portion isn’t going to vote for a LePen, they will always be tied to their fathers past words.

The problem with this post isn’t that it’s wrong is that it assumes Macron is a leftist. He is not.

Yeah Macron is more or less a traditional small r French republican. He’s pretty much in the center of the French political bar.

By our standards, he’s definitely way on the left. But by French standards, he’s middle of the road.

The French “left” is literally card carrying communist parties of various stripes lol.

Her father was more or less a reincarnated Vichy politician. A fascist.

Nothing is more hated in France than the Vichy regime.

She doesn’t seem anywhere close to him, but she doesn’t dismiss him strongly enough to get out from under his overwhelming shadow.

Although 42% of France voting for a far right populist is deeply worrying.

Far right in France basically means Neo-Vichy. Or Fascist in layman’s terms.

There’s a reason they never win. Brings up uncomfortable memories for the French people as a whole.

Their political sphere doesn’t match ours. Politics there are very different.

She didn’t. Her personal ideology could be considered… Pretty far right but not to the ultimate extreme. By French standards of course.

She is defined by her father, who was without a doubt a Fascist of the Vichy variety. And she has consistently refused to denounce him or his views.

Democrats won lopsided majorities by mail in in states where Republicans were way ahead in in person voting. What percentage do you want before it is “bad”?
In Hungary, ethnic Hungarians in surrounding countries are allowed to vote in Hungarian elections, as the lines are rather arbitrarily drawn. Those are the ones who overwhelmingly use mail in votes and understandably have their own voting patterns.

Do you not trust Trump’s administration top election security official who said the election was clean?
