They are about to.
Google and apple just released the code for developers make apps with it. They will not allow location data (which, i think, is a mistake).

No. I thought it wouldn’t work if it is optional. Everybody has to do it.

Panicky.
How is it going to work if everybody doesn’t play?

How does heard immunity work? Does EVERYONE have to be immune?
How does traffic updates work. Does EVERYONE on the road need to have the apps loaded?
Stop thinking everything is all or nothing.

Because it collects way more data about where you have been then this will.
How many of them do so with the knowledge the gov’t can track them without warrant?
this is a completely different form of tracking, Big Brother on steroids.

Nope. Read the article i posted. To use the API the Government agency is not allowed to use or access the location data at all.
So how are they tracking people via phone?

Seriously. Read the article.
Its not about location tracking. Its contact tracing. Meaning its sends a digital handshake via blue tooth to anyone you are close to that also has the app. If anyone with the app tests positive the health agency marks in the app they tested positive, and it sends a alert to anyone it had a digital handshake with in the past 14 days.
That person gets a alert that says “You have been exposed on this date” and to self quarantine and get tested if symptoms develop.
At least that is the goal.
Here is example of how it could lool.

I knew someone would say that and its such a silly argument.
Do you believe government only tracks your cell phone location with a warrant?
If you do believe that then why wouldn’t you believe this.
And if you DON’T believe that -then it doesn’t matter since they have the location anyway.

Whatever helps you feel better.
Remember to stay afraid and indoors. Your government thanks you for your obedience.
