“TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey’s COVID-19 pandemic has returned and it’s no longer a pandemic of the vaccinated. According to Governor Phil Murphy, it’s now a pandemic of the fully vaccinated. On Thursday, Murphy finally admitted what Shore News Network has been reporting for weeks, there is an alarming number of fully vaccinated patients in New Jersey’s hospitals.”

Well there are two ways to interpret this data. The vaccines are not that effective in preventing the new variant or the efficacy of the vaccines are wearing off and many people are lagging behind with the booster shot.

Officials say while the majority of new cases in New Jersey are among unvaccinated residents, cases among fully vaccinated people are increasing, which shows protection from the first round of shots may be waning. They are encouraging more fully vaccinated people to get booster shots.

Gov. Phil Murphy said Wednesday the state’s “main focus and concern” now is “breakthrough cases of severity.”

“The overwhelming message has to be: Get boosted,” Murphy said. “We know that increases your defenses by multiples. … And while the vaccinations work and they’re strong and they work against this, we also know they wane over time. So I use the phrase: This is not an option or a bonus, this is a requirement. If you really want to be protected, you’ve got to go out and get the booster.”

Get vaccinated. Get the booster.

Officials say vaccinated people are less likely to contract the virus and much less likely to develop life-threatening cases of COVID-19.

Why is it that there isn’t a great treatment that’s been developed to keep people out of the hospital? It may be sheople food but I’m hearing reports that the FDA is coordinating with the postal service to remove and destroy packages of ivermectin?

BREAKING: FDA Accused of Colluding with the USPS to Stop & Destroy Packages of Ivermectin Mailed to Patients - DAILY NEWS OF AMERICA

Now it’s being reported that hydroxychloroquine is effective when prescribed early on in treating COVID.

Hydroxychloroquine is effective, and consistently so when provided early, for COVID-19: a systematic review

What in the hell is going on people? There are people dying and yet, if this is all true…WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

70% of NJ residents are vaccinated, so if they represent 47% of infections they are still getting infected at a much lower rate than the unvaxxed.

If 69% of the population is fully vaccinated and 31% isn’t, and 53% of hospitalizations are of the unvaccinated, what’s that mean?

Take a population of 10,000. In NJ, 69% are fully vaccinated; 31% are not.

Say 100 people are in the hospital out of that population. This means that 53 are unvaccinated, 47 are.

47/6900 = .68% hospitalization rate of the vaccinated

53/3100 = 1.7% hospitalization rate of the unvaccinated

That’s a 2.5x higher likelihood of hospitalization is you’re unvaccinated. I know math isn’t a strong suit of the antivax community, so let me know if you’d like this drawn in crayon.

Because you guys read things like the “Shore News Network” and no longer have the ability to think, you just parrot this crap.

I thought it was 69…

(Nice)

What the heck do you think the Pfizer pill is?

Why the need to resort to resort to two year old “ideas”

Yeah, I read it wrong. 82% with 1+ dose, 70% with 2 -

Yeah. That doesn’t justify mandates though.

Just like climate…we are all along for the ride.

I still think the vax is a better idea. My opinion is fading like its efficacy.

Or the Omicron variant is just starting to kick in and the vast majority of cases will be fully vaccinated and boosted in few weeks.

The unvaccinated are more likely to already have natural immunity, which appears to be far more effective with Omicron. The vaccines appear to be useless or worse at preventing Omicron infections.

That still sounds like it’s better to get the vaccine and the booster.

Now…just think how many innocent people have died, all across the world, between when hydroxychloroquine was touted by Trump and when the Pfizer pill was introduced…and again I ask…just what the hell is going on?

Something missing there, oh, I know, for how long this time? The original vaccine was sold to me as long-lasting and effective.

They were wrong because of variants.

That’s life.

Yes, boosters may help people feel better. The question about their effectiveness reminds me from a scene in the Hitchhickers’ Guide to the Galaxy:

Barkeeper: Think that the world is going to end?

Ford: Yes.

Barkeeper: Shouldn’t we lie down or put paper bags over our heads or something?

Ford: If you’d like.

Barkeeper: Will it help?

Ford: Not at all.

See video starting at 1:10.

System leaders released what they found in a sampling of 430 patients hospitalized with the virus in Wisconsin and Illinois. The sample was taken on Nov. 30.

74% of them never received a vaccine shot
18% are partially vaccinated or due for a booster
8% are fully vaccinated and boosted
Out of that smallest group, Advocate Aurora said one-third are immunocompromised.

Well at least we got one thing established. Countries used it and?

They didn’t know there would be variants? How many boosters will you take? Is there an upper limit?
