Everyone knows the modern days Dems stick together no matter what.
Where as Republicans on occasion will vote against the party line.
For example, Susan Collins voted not guilty on both charges against Clinton in 1998.
And even with that particular sitting President taking a plea deal as a convicted felon too!
Note: Not even one Democratic Senator entered a “conviction” verdict then against Clinton, including Schumer and Leahy.
Thus, logic has guilt or innocence seemingly irrelevant if you are a Democratic senator…

I really don’t get this big threat about history?
I don’t live my life for what happened in the past (can’t change that) and I don’t live my live about what people might say about me in fifty years (in fact I really don’t care now what people say about me now).
I live every day as if it was my last.

Sure nothing would prevent Trump** from running from jail or even prison. There are no restriction for some serving a misdemeanor sentence (jail) or prison sentence (felony) from running from their cell.
An interesting hypothetical, is what happens if he wins? Does his sentence get suspended? Or does his cell become the remote White House?
