McConnell himself said that Trump is responsible for the events of January 6th.

Many many people are saying that Raskin’s plan was to get the Beutler evidence admitted- he threatened to call witnesses, and the repubs bargained him down to allowing the Beutler evidence in.

He is not the one claiming Trump called for an insurgency.

Only she was briefed? Not the Senate Majority Leader?

Which implies what again? I’m really hoping you can tie this knot without going down some false flag q troofer tale.

Sounds like a bit of a vague threat.

Hope I am wrong and that we are beyond such rhetoric.

We need to pay attention to Sleepy Joe now.

That it was planned ahead of time. It was spontaneous from his speech.

Republicans only care about fantasy tales . Policy is a few grade levels too high.

As long as sleepy joe keeps boringly governing we’re going to need another new conspiracy narrative, quick.

Huh?

The only President to be found not guilty of allegations twice, proving that Democrats could find nothing about him that was impeachable.
If you accept the impeachment as a thing because it passed, you have to accept the decision that the impeachment failed to state an impeachable act, because the acquittal passed.
Just consider it a rapprochement of Pelosi.

Actually he kind of did. He just said that they can’t impeach a private citizen

Sorry “It was not…”

That isn’t a play…that is why the entire process should have been avoided.

Quit distracting Biden.

He has a virus to defeat and he isn’t doing so well.

That’s not the reason Republican Senators are giving for voting not guilty

They voted? I thought they were calling witnesses?

Is this news contemporaneous?

You do know that a majority of Senators voted to convict, right? Not enough, but still a majority. Trump is a disgrace. Watch as repubs slowly back away. Oh, he’ll get to keep the Boeberts and Greenes, but anyone normal will turn their backs. Watch.

Exactly the opposite is true. If the 43 had spines, they would have had the guts to stand up to Trump and his base. Everyone knew what this outcome was going to be. It didn’t matter what case was made.

Agreed. This was never about the outcome. This was about allowing the Republicans to drive a wedge into their own party and establishing material for future politics. The only true “win” would have been for the Republicans to convict and remove Trump from the picture. He would have lingered but to a much smaller degree than he will now. At least they wouldn’t have to be held accountable by their de facto approval of his actions by acquitting him. Now the Republicans have to continue to deal with Trump, as well as growing division in the party.

This could be Whig party take two, or more likely the next coming of Bull Moose.

McConnell essentially begged the feds to throw the book at Trump

Alas, you have to find a witness to something in order to call them.

It was an inappropriate proceeding.

Now the voters get to swing back that slim 5 seat margin with plenty of justification.
