That’s what I mean. My pap for all his flaws got it. Seeing the German-American Bund and the Silver Shirts and Father Coughlin growing up will leave an impression on you I guess.
It’s not a coincidence this ■■■■ didn’t come back until the Depression/WW2 generation was mostly dead.

I’ve never thought about that. Intriguing point.

Then why delay?
IMHO a couple of reasons…
#1 Trump** was trying to delay Congressional certification of the EV votes so that he could continue to harass state election officials (i.e. GA) to change their certification of the results and/or attempt to get State legislatures to over-rule the election officials and decertify the states results.
#2 Trump** was a path to victory if the Congressional certification of the EV could be delayed or if enough State EV votes were thrown out, that the threshold of 270 EVs was not reached throwing the election to the House of Representatives. If it was thrown to the House, the election isn’t determined by one vote per member, it’s one vote per state delegation. IIRC, the number states held by a GOP (27?) exceeded the number of states held by a DEM majority (23?). Therefore a House vote was expected to go to Trump**.

My grandpap was in many ways the archetypal FDR Democrat turned Reagan Republican type but he’d have been out on the street with the kids carrying his pistol against obvious fascist marches. He was very pointed in how easily fascism can show up and I thought he was paranoid when I was a kid.

I don’t think there was enough malfeasance to change the result.
I would appreciate a closer examination of the mail in ballot veracity.
Interesting swing for Trump to go from having election veracity examined to potentially removed from consideration.
The impeachment is more of the shadow effort to swing the power to the D establishment and coastal aristocracy IMO.

And here is the crazy thing about that.
If it would have worked and Trump would have remained President because of some archaic parliamentary procedure that the country wouldn’t fly apart because of that?
He thought that the majority would go… oh well that dastardly Trump fooled us again…
Bonkers.

It’s not a shadow effort.
It is their duty to do this.
Too bad the GOP are spineless.

Swing the power to Democrats? It already did

Your results may vary…
Imagine this scenario with any person other than Trump.
Just pull back and think of these same events happened if Obama lost to Romney.
Just switch the characters around and see what happens.

Never voted for the guy.
Never really supported him.
In hindsight the GOP’s insistence on his impeachment looks cute.

More of a longer term effort.
