If the cop didn’t draw their gun she wouldn’t have been shot.

Was the $20 item worth risking her life for by her trying to get away by assaulting the cop with her car?
She didn’t pull out a gun. The cop right next to her didn’t draw his weapon, it was the cop standing in front of a running car like a dummy.
This is garbage.
Nothing. As evidenced by the video.

Yeah, if the light is just right and you’re two feet away.

No … but trying to run over a cop to get away is.
You really ought to quit.

Maybe so, but it’s standard practice for cops dealing with stopped/parked vehicles with the driver behind the wheel. Most people are smarter than to try to run over a cop with their gun trained on them. And you probably didn’t have a gun when you were five.

Just stop. They didn’t need the VIN, they had the aspect.
Why is it so difficult for you to acknowledge the fact that HER actions led to her death?? The cop reacted to HER actions, she turns off the car, complies with the cop, she goes home. Because she DIDN’T comply, she is dead, and her 2 kids no longer have a mom because she refused. It really is as simple as that.

If she got away. Shooting an unarmed suspect is usually not a way to keep a person suspect of a misdemeanor from fleeing.

Which goes to show how stupid she was to try to drive over a cop.

No, over refusing to follow the legal instructions from a police officer.
I tend to put more responsibility on trained officers over a 21 year old pregnant woman. Call me crazy, I know.
The cop in front of the vehicle didn’t follow department training by standing in front of a running vehicle. That same cop had his gun drawn before. The other cop was grabbing and banging against the window that she rolled down.
Cop should de-escalate. They didn’t.
The woman was not armed and she was just suspected to have stolen a bottle of liquor. Cops just don’t get to do whatever they want.

There is no right to claim self-defensive when you are committing a criminal act and are the aggressor. The best way to protect herself would have been to comply with the legal instructions from the cops. That lesson seems to be lost on a whole lot of people who live in your America.

Make up your mind. You said the cops had their guns out from the beginning.
“Self preservation mode” Yeah … Charged the guns head on.

That would be wonderful if the cops know for a fact that that is all bad that the person has been up to.
I wonder how many more dead cops we would have every year if they were required to keep their weapons holstered until they were fired at by the suspect?
No, you “tend” to never acknowledge the actions of the individual cause the REactions of the cops.
She complies, she lives, she doesn’t and this time she died. Actions have consequences, she could have stopped this from happening at any point.

She was unarmed. It would be much easier on cops if they just shot every suspect. I mean how do they know if they have a weapon or not?

Which as I said, makes her actions REALLY stupid.

She could have complied. But not complying shouldn’t equal guns drawn and banging at a half rolled down window.
She was suspected of stealing a bottle of liquor. A misdemeanor at best.
