Did you watch the video…i saw the gun pulled after she drove forward into the Law Enforcement Officer.

No, he had the gun out before she moved the vehicle.

Which as I said, makes her actions REALLY stupid.

Yes, when aggressively coming at a police officer who then tells you to stop, or get shot, one should cease their aggressive behavior or suffer the consequences.

Why was getting shot even an option when she was just sitting in her car after stealing a $30 dollar of liquor? They had her license plate.

They had her too. Why should they let her go, just to have to find her (after she got rid of the evidence) and get her again? Is that a wise use of public funds? Should they do that with every criminal who wants to leave the site of their impending arrest?

Yes … get rid of evidence. They would have a lot more trouble making the case for theft against her if she drank the whiskey and tossed the bottle into some random dumpster. And how much would chasing down that VIN (if they could read it before she drove off … if the car was hers) cost the taxpayers … all for a bottle of liquor? You seem to think policing is a game.

Why is it so difficult for you to acknowledge the fact that HER actions led to her death?? The cop reacted to HER actions, she turns off the car, complies with the cop, she goes home. Because she DIDN’T comply, she is dead, and her 2 kids no longer have a mom because she refused. It really is as simple as that.

I tend to put more responsibility on trained officers over a 21 year old pregnant woman. Call me crazy, I know.

It’s an unnecessary escalation from cops we should be trained to de-escalate.

Surrounding the car with guns drawn is a de-escalation most of the time. It takes a special kind of stupid to try to flee that situation by driving over one if those cops pointing a gun at you.

On what planet… is drawing guns on an unarmed shoplifting woman not an escalation? You can’t be serious

C’mon man. The cops didn’t know anything about this woman other that she had been accused of stealing and that she was refusing to cooperate. They most certainly did not know she was pregnant (not that that factored into any of it anyway.)

But despite your contention, disproportionate force is a proven method to de-escalate a potentially violent situation. Most people are smart enough to recognize that they cannot win.

She didn’t pull out a gun. The cop right next to her didn’t draw his weapon, it was the cop standing in front of a running car like a dummy.

The body can footage was released very quickly.

I did. That’s how I know they had cameras. Any one of them could have captured the vin on camera.
