A recent poll among registered Democrats is shedding new light on the current state of the 2020 election, with data showing the party wants “someone new” at the top of the ticket followed by former Vice President Joe Biden.

According to USA Today, the survey shows a majority of Democrats, approximately 59%, said they would be “excited” about “someone entirely new” to run against Donald Trump in 2020.

Biden was a close second with 53% saying they’d be “excited.”

Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton found herself at the bottom of the list, with just 15% saying they’d like to see the former Secretary of State take-on President Trump a second time.

“Hillary Clinton, 71, won the popular vote against Trump two years ago, but lost the Electoral College. She had the steepest climb of all: 15 percent would be excited if she ran again – a number swamped by the 70 percent who said she shouldn’t,” writes USA Today.
