Not any of the “major” countries as already defined…

And even if someone else did, Trump made a rather bold move at the time.

Imagine the lives saved, with USA having only a few positive cases being confirmed at the time to order the initial China travel ban.

The same people who praise Trump for magically cutting through all of the red tape for vaccine emergency authorization completely forget the foot dragging on the failure of the initial covid test (something that I don’t blame Trump for) and the inability to fix that problem in enough time to understand where the virus was spreading.

For starters, Trump ordered the closing of borders early on, including China in late January.

Meanwhile Biden was asleep at the switch crying xenophobia while still continuing to campaign into March.

It wasn’t a full closure. It was a feel good measure that accomplished little.

Covid was already in Europe by then and travel to and from there wasn’t restricted until mid March.

It did quite little to stop the virus from getting here.

Yes, we also heard that from Cuomo as he mandated hospital patients many with covid-19 back into nursing homes, even as the Mercy ship and other make shift hospital beds were sent in from the Trump administration to stop the spread. Same too is true in LA with another ship along with many other beds constructed throughout America.

It was not election fraud that cost Trump the presidency. It was his inept handling of the COVID-19 pandemic that cost him the presidency. Demonstrably leaders who handled the COVID-19 pandemic competently won re-election and in some instances recorded historically resounding successes.

I give him props for doing it but I am not going to pretend that it was some sort of crazy out of the box thinking that only Trump could have implemented.

The proof is in the pudding. Trump was put to the test and came through with a plan to manufacture several promising vaccines saving time to market and countless lives in the process.

We saw the Obama-Biden administration do nothing resembling this when they were in similar position with the swine flu, so there is at least that to compare.

The first case was reported in the US in April 2009.
By November 2009, there was a vaccine and 3 billion doses were manufactured worldwide.

Additionally the Obama Administration was three months old when the crisis began.,

The Trump Administration, by contrast, had been in power three years and also had the H1N1 and Ebola panics to have learned from.

So explain Trump not leading by example and wearing a mask early. Might that have convinced some to similarly wear masks and thereby save a life?

Explain Trumps decision to hold large indoor rallies without requiring masks? Do you think that might have saved a life?

Explain his Rose Garden event which was outdoors and indoors and did not require masks. Do you think had he required the masks that it might have saved a life?

If you want to make saving one life a criteria for action you’d best be consistent.

It is very telling that we are a year in and STILL this is the one thing Trump supporters hang their hats on.

The metric conservatives have been using is speed to vaccine. Under Trump, it took about 9 months which is great. Under Obama it took 7 months. Their metric says a “Thanks Obama” is in order. I don’t recall hearing that.

He did easily win the election. Had he not downplayed the virus or have large gatherings of people at the WH the press would still have found ways to twist those into reasons to oust him, and the press would still have protected Biden from scrutiny. It was always going to be an uphill battle when most of the cultural and political forces were doing all they could to get the globalists back in the drivers seats.
