You can’t compare what Trump is doing now to any other President in recent history. Trump is uniquely awful.

The MD gov is a Republican.
Here in VA the Republican party sent out mass absteee ballot applications. Lots of duplicates. Didn’t matter.

They are applications. But it was much harder to get a duplicate Actual ballot and damn near impossible to actually submit multiple ballots.

The application is like getting a credit card application. They send those out to everyone. Doesn’t mean they are gonna give you a card.

This is about what any GOP controlled WH and Senate would have done; or even what a DEM controlled WH and Senate would have done. They would have done exactly the same thing. This has nothing to do with Trump.

There’s nothing to indicated that they would. It has everything to do with Trump because HE IS THE ONE CURRENTLY DOING IT! You can’t hand wave this away because you feel like others might do the same. They haven’t in the past, and there’s no indication they would in the future. What we do know is that Trump is doing it now.

You are being naive. Politicians look for any opportunity to gain political advantage. When an opportunity presents itself they vigorously pursue it, no matter the consequenses. That is the precident. A politician who doesn’t play politics is an aberration. Were McConnell to have abandoned the opportunity, he would have broken precedent.

You guys keep stating that there is no precedent for McConnell’s actions, but have yet to present any supporting documentation.

And I’m only one person. There are people here who had received multiple requests for mail in ballots for multiple persons who had moved from homes and apartments years ago.
Like PA, only a few counties elect the Democrats in Maryland and they gerrymander the legislative districts nearly every election.
The Nov election was a ballot harvesting feeding frenzy here; but no fraud. Nope, never.

They should really make voter fraud a felony or something so people can’t just do that with impunity. And tell the Republican governor to clean up his act.

Absentee ballots are requested by the registered voter from and given by the election board. Geez, I thought you knew that.
There’s a difference, you’re talking about unsolicited mail in ballot requests and like your credit card depiction, sent out from a mailing list that may or may not be associated with the voting rolls. I received three, they all went in the shredder. I voted on 11/3 at my regular polling place. It took 1 hr and 20 mins.

Mail in ballots ARE sent out via voter registration rolls.
And voters have the option of how they wish to vote. They are not obligated to mail them back in.
