I don’t expect anything of consequence to come from that, so it might be prudent to not set yourself up for disappointment. The bottom line in this election, is that Trump was absolutely the WORST personality to face off against a candidate like Joe Biden. That Republicans did FAR better than expected in down ticket races is shockingly hopeful, and now the Democrats are out of excuses for the far left. The “Resistance” actually has to govern now and the spotlight will shift to the radicals without Trump hogging the camera.

I wanted both Obama and Trump to succeed initially, despite my personal dislike of both. I offer the same sentiment to Joe Biden, despite believing that most Democratic policies are maliciously harmful. I’m ready to be proven wrong, but it’s hard-knock life when you’re a political nihilist.

I’m not sure why this was surprising in the least. Trump was the worst possible candidate for the GOP in 2016 and he had no record. Why would 2020 be any different, especially with his record?

A gracious post, thank you.

There is going to be a hot ton of emotion coming from both sides today and for a while after. That is to be expected given the horror show 2020 has been (and we still have 7 weeks left!) But I likewise hope (despite Trump’s inevitable antics and attention seeking) that Biden is able to be more than just a caretaker POTUS and we find a way to break from Trumpist policies which I myself believe are maliciously harmful.

I’d like my own cynicism about what we’re about to see unfold be proven wrong, just like my election prediction was. We’ll see.

Tell that to all the Dems who have flatly said they will refuse a covid vaccine when it’s ready.

You may have misread me here - Trump losing wasn’t the shock, but Republicans performing considerably better than expected was.

It’s going to be the ugliest transition in history.

Most assuredly.

Stand back and stand by!

Was this not the modus operandi of Democrats for the past four years? Do you expect the opposition to yield entirely just because your candidate won, when there’s SO much hatred on both sides?

I think we may have to entertain that possibility if the next month goes like I expect it to.

Madonna’s too old. Maybe Gaga.

I question “Republicans”. I think a lot of people came out and voted that weren’t before. Turnout was better on both sides this year. Further, the results of both the House and Senate races tell me that voters weren’t as concerned about a Left or Right “mandate” so much as they were not giving a fraud four more years in Office or conversely, assuring he had four more because they personally felt they related to the man. I know several people who don’t normally vote who suddenly registered. Either way, this wasn’t a normal election year. After four years (and more) of incessant division, did anyone really expect it to be? I mean they were literally talking about civil unrest and civil war and the country being broken up just a few days ago. Nothing ever materialized. Funny that.

Trump had the house and senate for 2 full years, and accomplished nothing. All talk.

Yes, would absolutely help the country, democrats have lost their collective minds and their choices for the bench reflect that.

Histrionics aside, there are still very real fissures and irreconcilable differences over the nation’s future. I don’t have answers, but I prefer discussing it with people I may disagree with rather than insulating myself.

lol… try again, you are a prime example of tds.

here, see if you can answer this

Did Trump collude with Russia to win in 2016?
Did Trump “enrich” himself by using his position as President to gain business?
Did Trump withold foreign aid to get a bogus investigation of corruption started in Ukraine?
Was there ever any real evidence that warranted investigating collusion in the first place?
Who started the whole collusion hoax?
Were top people in the Obama administration involved in a scheme to falsely tie Trump to Russia?
Were the FBI, DoJ, NSA, and CIA involved in pushing a fraudulent investigation and concealing the fraudulent basis of it?

I know your answers. TDS it is, TDS it has always been.

Good post

Here’s the thing.

You live in Michigan. Your factory has been closed, and you job was relocated to Mexico or China. Instead of making the equivalent of $75,000 a year, you subsist on a Wal Mart job and an ebt card. Can you imagine the toll this takes on your dignity to be reduced to being a beggar?

And for as long as you can remember, noboty cared about you. Oh, they pay lip service, but that is about all you get on the subject.

A candidate comes along, and promises to do something to get your job and dignity back. Not only that, but he actually does something when he gets into office. First he re-negotiates NAFTA (now known as USMCA), then he daily butts heads with China to get a better trade deal out of them.

Tell me something: would you overlook the character flaws if a guy was fighting for you like that?

That is where Trumps support comes from. Are you getting the message yet?
