If a Twenty year war ain’t a crisis to you then I’m going have to repeat my point about the collapse of a world view.
this is laughable.

Supreme_War_Pig:
How many American citizens have been left in Afghanistan?
As I said the man on the NBC Evening News said tonight, “low hundreds.” But I can’t vouch for that. I doubt if anyone in our government actually knows,
do you think the U.S military just randomly choose to evacuate over 70,000 + people but then said wait there is a few hundred left lets bounce.
or are those people staying for a purpose.

Samm:
The key word there was crisis,

Don’t try to parse your way out of this. There was no crisis until Biden ■■■■■■ up the withdrawal.
Much like he ■■■■■■ up the security of our southern border …

We also armed an Islamic theocracy. Can’t wait to see the new gun control proposals Democrats have for U.S. citizens, by contrast.
Staggering Costs – U.S. Military Equipment Left Behind In Afghanistan
The Taliban is probably the fourth or fifth best equipped army in the world now.
this is laughable.
Only if you think equipping the Taliban with thousands of modern weapons and equipment is funny.

most of the equipment would have been disabled if it was left by the U.S
most of the equipment taken from the Afghan government is not modern.
most of it is pretty useless they can’t sell it, repair it, etc.
You think the Taliban is going to magically learn how to fly and maintain black hawk helicopters?

Sorry, that’s supposition. Change that to “should have” and I’ll buy it, but there has been no evidence that that was done. And it doesn’t matter who the weapons were taken from. The point is, the Taliban now have them.

do you think the Taliban knows how to maintain and repair MSFV?
do you think the Taliban knows how to maintain, repair, and operate blackhawk helicopters?
even the Afghan military doesn’t know how to maintain, repair those it was contracted out to American.
the only useful thing they got was a bunch of rifles that they could have bought from China.
Do you think the Taliban are too stupid to figure it out?

Do you think the Taliban are too stupid to figure it out?
They are not rocket scientist.
the only useful thing left was small arms, which the Taliban was not lacking in because they have been raiding Afghan arm depot for a decade.

I think they’ll find the hummers useful too.

We aren’t talking about rockets.
Here, see anything on the list that’s too complicated that if they can’t learn to maintain themselves they can’t easily hire someone who can?

where are they going to get the parts to maintain these vehicles and aircraft.

Well, with 20k to work with, they’ll be able to keep 'em up and running on their own for a while.
I don’t know NATO Army vehicles are not well known for their performance / reliability

I don’t know NATO Army vehicles are not well known for their performance.
Well, deploy 4k or so, hold the rest back for parts. It’s not like a hummer is especially sophisticated.
The M113’s will probably present more of a challenge, but even still that vehicle has been in service for decades, all over the world. Mechanics will be easy, but parts might be a problem.
The aircraft will be the hardest to maintain. They’ll probably use them sparingly

or are those people staying for a purpose.
Was thinking that…How many of them wanted to remain there? How many are there on a missionary / teacher type situation, and felt the need to stay? Are there people that wanted to stay with family? After all they went to a war zone voluntarily.

where are they going to get the parts to maintain these vehicles and aircraft.
You are talking about a people who can build knockoff AK47s in their home shops. These are not stupid nor incapable people.
Besides, in addition to all that armory, they acquired tons of parts and tools … and a lot of money. What they don’t have in inventory or can’t do themselves, they can buy.

They most likely will sell most of the helicopters to the highest bidder … and probably someone worse for us than they are.
