I would have no problem returning to the pre 1971 laws that made 21 the age of majority (adulthood). That would mean that you could not buy a gun, vote, get married without parental consent, have an abortion without parental consent, or, surgically or chemically change your gender until you are 21.

The idea that an 18 year old is too immature to purchase a gun but a 4 year old can decide to change his gender is about as asinine thing I’ve ever seen.

I must say, you have a fertile imagination. Why not put that imagination to work on real life situations where a teacher died facing off against an armed assailant in an attempt to protect the children without having a gun themselves? Do you want them to continue to die in vain trying to protect your kids simply because something bad might possibly happen if they are armed?

Chances are that teacher will die whether she is unarmed or armed. For me, it would be better to die trying. Or maybe succeed in killing the gunman, and staying alive and saving the children.

Yep. Even if the chances of an armed teacher surviving a face off with a shooter might be less than 50-50, it’s far better than a zero chance.
