You know what’s interesting? I have a book about early settlers, Indian fighters and Rangers in early Texas. It was written before the turn of the 19th century.
Young children, younger than this young man, sent out in the evening to bring cows in for the night. Young boys sent to “go fetch help”. Trying to help fight off Comanches who broke into their homes to rape, kill and steal anything that caught their eye. Killing and dying or being carried off to defend their homes.
Wonder what changed?

To be frank, it is not worth it to try and explain why a 12 year old, who had to defend his family and kill someone, might benefit from simply being asked how he is coping from a professional trained in helping children who have experienced violence.
“Rub some dirt on it” seems to be the motif here, so be it. I am not changing anyone’s mind so there is no use debating it.
But to answer your question, you shouldn’t wait until problems surface. Bad idea.

Who would that be? He didn’t “experience” violence, he dealt it. He’s not a victim. He’s a Warrior. A man who did what he had to do.

Sorry, Sneaky. No sense debating this, we are at an impasse.
sorry. engineers humor. there is no actual translation, and comes from “germanese” warning posted on equipment since about the 50s or so:
ACHTUNG! ALLES LOOKENSPEEPERS!
There are actually quite a few German words in there.
Ist = is
nicht = not
der = the
das = the
und = and
bei = at
dumbkopfen = stupid
muss = got to, or must
relaxen = relax
The two languages have many similar words. I study German, lots of rules but I still enjoy progressing.

ATTENTION slack jawed yokels
this computerized machine is not for your poking your booger picking fingers and grabbing. its likely to break the delicate precision internal workings, blow a fuse or generally pop corks and cause sparks. it’s not advised that idiots like AOC try to work on it. curious types are advised to keep you hands in your pockets and just relax and stare at the blinking light.

For my own entertainment I actually translated the funny German spelling into real German.
Original First:
Next the English translation… (credit to ThinkingMan)

Society got softer. A lot softer.

I’d feel more guilty about killing an enemy soldier than a home invader.
