4 years ago the deficit was shrinking. Why does that lead you to believe Ds don’t care about debt?

While the debt was growing. Go team go! lol

Obama did do something different. He inherited a huge deficit in a crisis and cut it by 50%+. You guys I inherited a small deficit and DOUBLED it during FULL EMPLOYMENT.

Here is what is different:

Under Obama, the deficit was shrinking.

Under trump, it is expanding.

Yes, inheriting a terrible economy and lowering the deficit is different than inheriting a booming economy and exploding the deficit.

Are you actually incapable of comprehending that?

No need to repeat yourself, I saw that team spirit cheer the first couple of times.

I’m honest enough to admit that both sides are guilty as sin on this issue. The team players are not.

Of course it was. You cant inherit $1.3trillion deficit and 800,000 jobs lost a month and lower the debt without first tackling the deficit. Which Obama did. Not like cons who DOUBLE deficits to 2009 levels at full employment hahaha

You can’t reduce debt until you wipe out the deficit. We were on our way to doing that. Now, trump is expanding the deficit.

You’re not being honest here. You are rationalizing your team DOUBLING the deficit at full employment to $1trillion.

Obama reduced the deficit. Trump is expanding it.

This is a real difference.

Apparently cons thought it would be a good idea in 2009 to further cut GDP by 15%

I’m not the one with a team here. Honest, eh? pfffft.

I’ve noted your white flag.

You mean you kissed your ego. :kissing_heart:

Unless there is a surplus, the debt is always going to grow. Is this new news?

SixFoot thinks Obama should have cut GDP by a further 15% in 2009 I guess after inheriting a $1.3trillion deficit during a financial crisis

They must have run out of teabags.

Economics can be hard for normal people to grasp. Not everyone understands the basics of deficit versus surplus and it’s impact on the debt. You’d think it would be easier for people to grasp. But alas, no.

Just because your arguments got smacked down

What was the last GOP president that reduced the deficit?
