U.S. casualties. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to think about how Americans have less of a chance of dying in a war than in a U.S. city.

Right but just Baghdad had like thirty, forty times the numbers of murders right? And those are just the ones that were found.

That somehow means it was not, in fact, safer for Americans to go to war than to live their daily lives in Chicago?

No. No it does not.

I dunno, people in the hood don’t have FOBs they can spend most of their days in.

They should move to Baghdad where it’s safer.

Hundred murders a day if you’re not carrying a rifle and explosives and spending ninety percent of your time behind walls with even bigger guns and more explosives.

What are these “walls” and “FOBs” you speak of? Are they fun? Do they do something magical?

Well give them the weapons that a US soldier carry and their vehicles and they won’t kill each other as much because adding hand grenades and and A-10 Warthogs to the mix will make it safer according to your logic.

Oh, you think air support is just there whenever? HA!

Armored vehicles? You mean the metal fireboxes that cook soldiers alive when an 20 dollar RPG busts right through that 80 billion dollar armor package? HA!

Grenades? Those things we never get to use because it might offend a lib back home when collateral happens? HA!

Maybe an AR-15? Aren’t you lefties still trying to bans those though? Man, and here I’ve been told that when people read books they actually learn anything useful.

You never know who it will be, when it’s right don’t question it, just enjoy it.

Missing a key part of that, more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens, not gang members.

It is freaking hilarious watching someone who has never put on the uniform, never had to worry if that pile of trash hid an IED, well you get my point trying to debate someone who HAS been there, done that, and has the t-shirt telling YOU that you are wrong.

Apparently watching movies with CAS on station with plenty of gas and things that go boom just 30 seconds away, and where RPG’s just bounce off harmlessly means he knows more than one that has been there…LMAO

So the comparison of murder victims to combat losses was an apples to oranges effort. But the responses to it were equally poorly thought through.

Failure to properly police the region, coupled with policies meant to disarm the general populace, which the criminal element simply ignores, are what is driving this death toll.

They’re bz attempting to intimidate judges.

I just realized something that’s kind of relevant but Cook county isn’t just metro Chicago. It includes suburbia

Doesn’t take away from the crazy number though.

Be interesting to see the crime statistics with gang activity removed.

I was using Cook County and highlighting Chicago metro. The issue is the gangs. Cook County has 5.15 million population with over 2.7 million in metro Chicago. Metro Chicago has over 520 of the 1000+ murders already this year. The whole county is a problem and 100,000+ gang members is the issue. These gangs are at war with each other and too many innocent people are caught in the middle.

Name a county where 1,000 white people have been killed by white murderers in a year.

The United States of America

County, not country.
